My Life with Multiple Sclerosis

In 2006, following two strange incidents while on vacation in Kenya, I was diagnosed with Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. This blog is an account of my treatments and self discovery.

About Me

Alnoor Rajan Talwar
Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, Canada
I am a 58 year-old, living in Nova Scotia, Canada. I was diagnosed with MS in 2006 and realize how fickle life can be. I think we all need love - love for our friends, family, companions and everybody in the human race. In the final analysis, it really does not matter who did what to whom. It does not matter what others did or did not do for and to you. The only thing that matters is what you do to and for them. My favorite quote comes from a trapeze artist who says," Life is where you are on the rope. Everything else is just practice." This is how I lead my life.

Some quotes that have helped me survive..............................................:

The life of inner peace,

being harmonious and without stress

is the easiest type of existence

- Norman Vincent Paul

Resistence creates suffering,

Stress happens when your mind resists what is,

The only probem in your life,

is your mind's resistence to life, as it unfolds,

- Dan Millman

The greatest weapon against stress

is our ability to choose opne thought over another

William James

Inner peace is a choice

Make that choice today

The greatest wealth is health.

- Virgil

The part can never be well unless the whole is well.

- Plato

Every human being is the author of his own health or disease.

- The Buddha

He who takes medicine and neglects his diet wastes the skill of his doctors.

- Chinese Proverb

A man too busy to take care of his health is like a mechanic too busy to take care of his tools.

- Spanish Proverb

Life is a song - sing it.

Life is a game - play it.

Life is a challenge - meet it.

Life is a dream - realize it.

Life is a sacrifice - offer it.

Life is love - enjoy it.

- Sai Baba

“Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.”

- KendallJenner

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.

-
Dale Carnegie

Do the thing you fear to do and keep on doing it... that is the quickest and surest way ever yet discovered to conquer fear.

- Dale Carnegie

The Power of Change

If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living.

- Gail Sheehy

He who rejects change is the architect of decay. Harold Wilson

All of life is change. Each change has some positive and some negative, but always focus on the positive aspects of each change.

I started this blog for people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis or any other disease or ailment for that matter.

People need to know that there are alternatives to conventional medicine, that actually work. I was diagnosed in 2006. I probably had it long before that. I had many symptoms before I was actually diagnosed.
I was told a n number of things from I was anemic, had poor circulation, had a rare blood disorder or was going through a depression.
One doctor even sent me for Aids tests every six months. Nobody thought to test for Multiple Sclerosis even though the symptoms were quite obvious.

We seem to be at the mercy of the pharmaceutical industry whose only aim is to profit. The sicker we get, the richer they get. They never have & never will have any cure(s) in their future because they just treat the symptoms, and put billions, even trillions of dollars in their pockets. Cures will mean a decline in these profits.

I decided from the get-go that I was not going to go down the prescription drug path. I have treated my illness naturally with supplements, nutrition and the whole mind, body and spirit approach.
I am Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Dairy Free, Chemical and Preservative Free and changed my whole lifestyle from my clothing to my personal hygiene and housekeeping products.

Please start reading from the bottom of this blog from the oldest posts. so that the sequence of my treatments and my progress can be understood properly. Just go through the archived lists.

It is my earnest hope that people living with MS, or any other illness for that matter, will realize that they do not have to be at the mercy of the medical profession and the greedy pharmaceutical industry whose only interest is their pockets.

Today, 8 years after I was first diagnosed, I am quite fine.
My last MRI showed no new lesions as compared to my first, and only one active lesion and no progression despite having Secondary Progressive MS.
The best part........,I have had no relapses or MS attacks ever since I began on this 'Natural' journey (which my then neurologist termed as 'witchcraft'.

I lead an incredible, almost normal life, while recognizing and accepting my limitations.

Please feel free to leave your comments or send me a message. I will be happy to answer any of your questions to the best of my ability.

10 REASONS WHY NOT TO CONSUME CARBONATED SOFT DRINKS

1. Soft drinks are a 'water thief'. They are a diuratic that steal more water than they provide to the body. Processing the high levels of sugar in soft drinks removes a considerable amount of water from the body.

2. Soft drinks do not actually quench your thirst, They certainly do not fill your body's need for water. Constantly denying your body adequate amounts of water leads to chronic cellular dehydration, a condition which weakens your overall health. This in turn can lead to a weakened immune system and a plethora of diseases.

3. The elevated levels of phoshates in soft drinks leach vital minerals from the body. Soft drinks are made with purified water that also leaches vital minerals from the body. A severe lack of minerals can lead to heart disease (lack of magnesium), osteoporosis (lack of calcium), psychiatric disorders (lack of phosphorous) and many other diseases. Most vitamins cannot perform their function in the body without the presence of minerals.

4. Soft Drinks can remove rust stains from a car bumper or other metal surfaces. Imagine what they do to your digestive tract as well as the rest of your body.

5. The high amounts of sugar in soft drinks cause the pancreas to produce an abundance of insulin which leads to a 'sugar crash". Chronic elevation and depletion of sugar and insulin levels in the body can lead to diabetes and other hormonal imblances. This is particulary disruptive to growing children and can lead to lifelong problems.

6. Soft Drinks severely interfere with digestion. Caffeine and high amounts of sugar virtually shut down the digestive process. The means your body is essentially taking NO nutrients from the food you consume.

7. Diet soft drinks contain Aspartame, which has been linked to depression, insomnia, neurological diseases and a plethora of other illlnesses. The FDA has received more than 10.000 complaints about Aspartame. This accounts for 80% of all complaints concerning food additives.

8. Soft drinks are extremely acidic; so much that they can eat through the liner of aluminium cans if they sit on the shelf too long. Autopsies of Alzeimer's patients revealed high levels of aluminium. Heavy metals in the brain can lead to many neurological and psychiatric diseases. The human body is healthiest at a pH of about 7.0. Soft drinks have a pH of approximately 2.5, which means you are putting something in your body that is approximately 50,000 times more acidic than your body ought to be. All diseases flourish in an acidic environment.

9. Soft drinks contain large amounts of benzene; eight times that which is allowed in drinking water. Benzene is a carcinogenic chemical that has been linked with leukemia.

10. Soft drinks are among the worst substances you can put in your body. Do not even think of taking a sip of a soft drink when you are suffering from a cold, flu or something worse. It will only make if that much harder for your body to fight the illness. This is because of the huge amounts of sugar (real or fake), chemicals and acid liquids they contain. Disease thrives in an acidic environment. Your body does not.
